Memorial Candles for Janine

My dear friend Janine passed away on Wednesday 1st of July after a very courageous battle with breast cancer.  Janine’s passing has been devastating, but I take comfort in knowing that she’s pain free and doesn’t have to struggle anymore.

I’m sharing photos of the candles I made for Janine’s funeral, which was held last Friday.

Candles Janine Trio

I’m so pleased with how they turned out.  Janine’s husband, Graeme, provided me with gorgeous photos to use.

Candle Janine-Cara

Sleep peacefully my beautiful friend.  I know you will already have the angels stamping!

Thanks for stopping by.

  1. So sorry for your loss. What a beautiful tribute to your friend.

So very sorry for the loss of your friend. The candles are beautiful.

  3. What a lovely thing to do. Thanks for sharing it! I just lost my bff to cancer & this would be a lovely gift for her daughters. Can you please share how you did this?

Sorry for your loss kraftychic 🙁 To make the candles I printed the photos onto tissue paper and positioned them onto the candles. I then covered the candle with baking paper and used my heat gun to melt the tissue paper into the candle. Be careful not to heat it for longer than needed or the wax will melt and not give you a nice finish. Hope this helps xx

      • Thanks so much for answering. I was wondering how you got the photo on tissue paper. I’m going to try it! Again, thanks for responding and sharing such a beautiful thoughtful gift.

        • Mel Sharp says:

I print the photo and any words onto Whisper White cardstock. I then stick the tissue paper to the cardstock and send it through the printer again. Let me know how you go, would love to see photos once you have made your candles xx
