Janine’s Card In A Box

Janine’s husband, Graeme, asked all of her stamping friends to make a card to present to her during the funeral.  I knew that I would make Janine a card in a box card, because she wanted to try one, but didn’t get the chance.

Janine Card In A Box - Front

I chose Blackberry Bliss because purple is Janine’s favourite colour.  The stars come from a long retired set that I don’t think I will ever part with, called Simply Stars.  I choose stars because I like to think that Janine is now a star shining down on us.  I’ve also added lots of Silver Glimmer Paper, because Janine is just like the rest of us and loved her bling!

Janine Card In A Box - Side

I know Janine would have loved this card!  I think it took me just as long to write my message to her on the back as it did to make the card.  I didn’t want to make it a sad card, so I made it a thank you card instead.  I thanked Janine for our special friendship, and all the little moments we got to share.  I also added this small piece I found online:

Goodbye’s are not forever.

Goodbye’s are not the end.

They simply mean I’ll miss you,

Until we meet again.

Sleep peacefully my beautiful friend, until we meet again.

  1. So beautiful! What a lovely tribute to a great friend! Love it!

  2. I love this box card you made and am sure your friend is smiling. I have a question: how did you figure out the dimensions to make it this size? I’ve made regular size ones but like this size.
