Flower Shop Card In A Box

When my class ladies told me they needed a purple 50th birthday card with butterflies, I knew it was finally time to sit down and make my own card in a box.  I’ve had it on my “Gotta Make That” list for ages, so I sat down and watched the great tutorial from the super talented Tanya Bell with measurements to fit in a standard Aussie sized envelope, and got to work!

Flower Shop 004 - Front

You just can’t go past Elegant Eggplant and Wisteria Wonder when you need a purple fix!

Flower Shop 004 - Left

The Flower Shop and Petite Petals stamp sets made this come together fairly quickly…love love love a matching punch 🙂

Flower Shop 004 - Right

Those butterfly punches sure got a workout too!

My ladies all loved this card, and were soon hard at work making their very own card in a box to bring for show and tell to our next class!

So…2 posts in 2 days….let’s see if we can make it three in a row tomorrow!

My swap for Inspire Create Share Convention 2014

Last Thursday, Friday and Saturday I attended the Stampin’ Up! Inspire Create Share Convention 2014.  It’s such an amazing experience, with plenty of new products to play with, the upcoming 2014-2015 catalogue to drool over, stamping, swapping, laughing, crying, stage walks, cheering, singing, dancing, prize patrols, all attendee give-aways, reunions with old friends and meeting new friends!  The event kicked off with Glinda singing “Popular” from the hit musical Wicked, which was fabulous, and it just got better from there!

While I haven’t yet managed to go through all of my photos from Convention, I have got photos of the card I made to swap while I was there.

Flower Shop 003 - Front

I have embossed one of the gorgeous flowers from the Flower Shop stamp set in Whisper White Embossing Powder onto Crumb Cake cardstock, and then coloured them all in with my Real Red Stampin’ Write Marker.  So time consuming, and I didn’t get anywhere near as many made as I would have liked, but I still got to swap with some super talented demonstrators, so I was happy.  Remind me next year to start earlier, or do something a little less time consuming!!

Flower Shop 003 - Inside

My swaps didn’t include the inside of the card, but I couldn’t post a card where the inside wasn’t as pretty as the outside!

I’m looking forward to making this card with my ladies this week 🙂

May SCS Creative Crew DSP/Colour Focus

SU-Creative-CrewThe Splitcoaststampers SU Creative Crew have kicked off May with some fantastic challenges.  We have 24 super talented stampers in the design team for this round, so there’s lots of gorgeous projects in the May Creative Crew Gallery for you to check out!

Your theme this month is to be “Anything But Average”.  Take inspiration from the past and show us something new!  Stretch creatively through different folds and other creative projects, and leave “almost boring” at the back door.  We are focusing on non-traditional sized cards (anything BUT an A2), shaped cards, scrapbook layouts and 3D projects.  Go beyond the obvious and ordinary, and make it extraordinary!

DSP/Colour Focus: Daffodil Delight, Island Indigo, Gumball Green, Smoky Slate.

Use a technique of your choosing that imitates our Watercolor Wonder designer series paper.

I pulled out my Circle Card Thinlits for the very first time to create my flip card.

Flower Shop Flip Card Front

I love how easy this card was to make!  I knew exactly which sheet of Watercolor Wonder DSP I wanted to imitate, and pulled out my Flower Shop stamp set and got busy.

I stamped my flowers onto Whisper White cardstock using Gumball Green, Island Indigo and Smoky Slate ink.  Before stamping each flower I stamped onto scrap cardstock twice before stamping on my white to soften the colours.  I am so pleased with how this turned out!

Flower Shop Flip Card Side

I can’t wait to make this card with all my ladies!

March SCS Creative Crew Catalogue Focus

SU-Creative-CrewThis month we want you to show us what you love about the Envelope Punch Board or the Simply Scored tool.

I haven’t had much of a play with the Envelope Punch Board, except to make a few envelopes, so was excited to play along with this challenge!  I followed Sam Donald’s video tutorial to make my Envelope Punch Board Clutch Bag.

Here it is again front on.

Envelope Punch Board 001 Front

How cute is that!  It’s fairly big too, so you would fit quite a few things in there 🙂

I finally mounted my Flower Shop stamp set the other day, and couldn’t wait to have a play 🙂

Flower Shop 001 Notecard

Super quick and super cute!  This adorable notecard literally took me about 10 minutes to make from start to finish!  That couldn’t possibly be considered enough play time though…..

Flower Shop 001 Gift Card

…so I made a super quick and super cute gift card to match! I love how these turned out…and it was great to finally crack open my Strawberry Slush cardstock and ink pad!

Flower Shop 001

I’ve seen some gorgeous creations with this set out in blogland, so I’m looking forward to another play date with it very soon!
