June SCS Creative Crew Scrapbook and More Focus

SU-Creative-CrewCelebrate your best friend on a scrapbook page or by making a gift for them!

Today’s project is actually one of the mini Make and Takes we made while at the Stampin’ Up! South Pacific Inspire Create Share Convention last month.  I just added in my photos and journaling, and I was set to go!

Project Life 001

I am so in love with Project Life!  Can’t wait for the postie to hurry up and deliver the products I preordered from the upcoming catalogue….lots more Project Life stuff to play with!

Project Life 002

Super easy!  I’m thinking that it might just be time to start scrapping Dylan’s baby photos!

June SCS Creative Crew Holiday Focus

SU-Creative-CrewIn line with our Anything Goes theme this month, our Holiday Focus challenge is to celebrate your favourite holiday with a new technique.

I decided that I would use masking as my new technique.  I love layers, and it is very rare for me to make a card that is fairly flat.  I masked off the top and bottom of my card, and set to work making a Christmas card.

Snowflake Soiree 001 - Front

I love how this turned out!  I stamped my snowflakes from the Snowflake Soiree stamp set and embossed them with clear embossing powder, then sponged Bermuda Bay over the top.  I then scored lines to highlight my masked area with my Simply Scored.

Snowflake Soiree 001 - Inside

I went super simple for the inside, and just added my sentiment.

SU-Creative-CrewAnything Goes!  Use your favourite product in your favourite way!  Make us fall in love with it too!

Choosing a favourite product was about as hard as choosing a favourite colour!  I went through the retiring lists and choose two products that I am really going to miss.

Field Flowers 005 - Front

I am really going to miss this Field Flowers stamp set!  I love 2 step stamping, and these flowers are just gorgeous.

Field Flowers 005 - Inside

I am going to miss the Ruffle Stretch Trim too.  Luckily there are more than enough gorgeous new products in the upcoming 2014-2015 Catalogue to make saying goodbye to these products a little more bearable!

June SCS Creative Crew DSP/Colour Focus

SU-Creative-CrewThe Splitcoaststampers Creative Crew June Challenge theme is Anything Goes!  For our Colour Focus challenge we want you to show us your favourite colour.  Try it in a colour combo you haven’t used before!

I actually had a really hard time choosing a fave colour!  I love so many of the Stampin’ Up! colours…..they are all my favourites!  But I had to choose, and in the end I settled on Wisteria Wonder.  I consulted my Colour Coach for advice on what colours to team it with, and got to work.

Regarding Dahlias 001 - Front

I was so happy to see the Regarding Dahlias stamp set return in the 2014-2015 catalogue!  This is the first time I have used it, and I’m in love!

Regarding Dahlias 001 - Inside

I am loving Sahara Sand, Soft Sky and Wisteria Wonder together too…..I think you will be seeing this colour combo pop up a bit more often!

Are you ready to show us your favourite colour?  Upload your project to Splitcoaststampers using the keyword CCREW0614DF.  Don’t forget to check out the amazing creations by my fellow design team members in the June Creative Crew Gallery too!

Can’t wait to see what you create using your favourite colour!

May SCS Creative Crew Scrapbook and More Focus

SU-Creative-CrewIn keeping with our “Anything But Average” theme for May, we have saved up our toilet paper rolls and used them to make super cute mini albums.  Check out this tutorial, grab your toilet paper rolls, and come join us!

I wanted something a bit bright and funky for my mini album, and just couldn’t go past our Retro Fresh DSP from the Celebrate the Everyday catalogue.

Toilet Roll Album 1

I’ve gone with a different DSP for each page, and I love how it has turned out!

Toilet Roll Album 3

I love this sentiment from the Perfect Pennants stamp set.

Toilet Roll Album 2

I’ve used the Scallop Tag Topper Punch to create my little inserts.

So, have you got some toilet paper rolls saved up?  Get busy creating your own mini album and upload it to Splitcoaststampers using the keyword CCREW0514SF.  Don’t forget to check out all the mini albums in the May Creative Crew Gallery!

May SCS Creative Crew Holiday Focus

SU-Creative-Crew

Holiday Focus:  National Photograph Month

Create a card that looks like a photograph by putting a border around your image and making the image glossy.  Use your On Film Framelits, or make your own frame.  Use Window Sheets to add your glossiness, or cover your image in Crystal Effects.

I haven’t caved in and purchased the On Film Framelits yet, so I pulled out my Squares Collection Framelits to create my own frame.

Wetlands 003 - Front

I stamped the Hardwood background onto Soft Suede cardstock, and die cut my squares to create my frame.  It doesn’t show in the photo, but I have added my Window Sheet in behind my frame, and popped that up on Stampin’ Dimensionals over my sponged Wetlands image.

May SCS Creative Crew Catalogue Focus – Scoring Tools

SU-Creative-Crew

In keeping with our “Anything But Average” theme this month, the Creative Crew Catalogue Focus is our scoring tools.

Use one or all of these scoring tools to add interest to a Gatefold Card:

Simply Scored Tool

Simply Scored Borders Plate

Simply Scored Diagonal Plate

I’ve used the Simply Scored tool and the Simply Scored Diagonal Plate on my Gatefold card.

Stippled Blossoms 001 - Front

It doesn’t show up well in the photos, but I have used the Simply Scored Diagonal Plate on the Whisper White cardstock to create a diamond background.

Stippled Blossoms 001

I love how this turned out, and I know my ladies will love making it in class.

Stippled Blossoms 001 - Inside

I’ve kept the inside very simple, letting those gorgeous Stippled Blossoms speak for themselves.

Are you ready to show us your Anything But Average Gatefold card made using one or all of our scoring tools?  Upload your creation to Splitcoaststampers with the keyword CCREW0514CF.  Don’t forget to check out the inspiration in the May Creative Crew Gallery while you are there!

May SCS Creative Crew DSP/Colour Focus

SU-Creative-CrewThe Splitcoaststampers SU Creative Crew have kicked off May with some fantastic challenges.  We have 24 super talented stampers in the design team for this round, so there’s lots of gorgeous projects in the May Creative Crew Gallery for you to check out!

Your theme this month is to be “Anything But Average”.  Take inspiration from the past and show us something new!  Stretch creatively through different folds and other creative projects, and leave “almost boring” at the back door.  We are focusing on non-traditional sized cards (anything BUT an A2), shaped cards, scrapbook layouts and 3D projects.  Go beyond the obvious and ordinary, and make it extraordinary!

DSP/Colour Focus: Daffodil Delight, Island Indigo, Gumball Green, Smoky Slate.

Use a technique of your choosing that imitates our Watercolor Wonder designer series paper.

I pulled out my Circle Card Thinlits for the very first time to create my flip card.

Flower Shop Flip Card Front

I love how easy this card was to make!  I knew exactly which sheet of Watercolor Wonder DSP I wanted to imitate, and pulled out my Flower Shop stamp set and got busy.

I stamped my flowers onto Whisper White cardstock using Gumball Green, Island Indigo and Smoky Slate ink.  Before stamping each flower I stamped onto scrap cardstock twice before stamping on my white to soften the colours.  I am so pleased with how this turned out!

Flower Shop Flip Card Side

I can’t wait to make this card with all my ladies!

Are you ready to show us your anything but average card?  Upload your card to Splitcoaststampers with the keyword CCREW0514DF.  Don’t forget to check out the inspiration in the May Creative Crew Gallery!

April SCS Creative Crew Scrapbook Focus

SU-Creative-CrewShow us your take on the layout featured on page 13 of the March/April 2014 Stampin’ Success magazine.

It was My Digital Studio (MDS) to the rescue for me to complete this challenge!

Flying-Fox-MDS-page

I kept everything super simple, but I was really pleased with how this turned out.  Not too bad for my second MDS attempt, and my second ever scrapbook page!  Who knows….I may get really adventurous next time and use some stamps!

Are you ready to show us your scrapbook page?  Upload your project over at Splitcoaststampers and use the keyword CCREW0414SF.  Don’t forget to check out the April SU Creative Crew Gallery while you are there!

I really enjoyed my time on the SCS SU Creative Crew Design Team, so when I received the message asking if I would like to participate for the next 4 months in the Mega Round, I jumped at the chance!  With a whopping 24 Design Team members, you can be sure that the inspiration in the SU Creative Crew gallery over the next 4 months is going to be amazing!

April SCS Creative Crew Holiday Focus

SU-Creative-Crew

Create a card, an ensemble, a scrapbook page or a decor item for one of the following holidays:

Earth Day

Historic Garden Week

Easter

National Egg Salad Week

Go Fly A Kite Day (3rd Sunday in April)

This one was a no brainer for me!  I needed Easter presents for Dylan’s teachers as well as the bus driver and chaperone who take him to and from school each day, so was more than happy to kill two birds with one stone!

Window Treat Box Front

How super cute is that box???  I am so in love with it!  I followed the Window Treat Box tutorial on Splitcoaststampers.  Super easy!

Window Treat Box Side

This one made in Coastal Cabana is my favourite, but I made them in all of the 2013-2015 In Colours, and they all looked great!  I finished them off just as I was running out the door to go to school for the last day of term assembly, so I didn’t manage to get a photo of them all together.  I’m thinking these will be great filled with different chocolates and a Mother’s Day sentiment on them, so you may see more of these ones yet!
