Flower Patch Birthday

Today’s card was inspired by Mikaela’s card over at The Crafty oINK pen. ¬†I added the Flower Patch stamp set and matching framelits to my stash a few months ago, and they were begging me to use them to make my Mum’s birthday card ūüôā

Flower Patch 001

So my card doesn’t look much like Mikaela’s card…I’m keeping her card in my CASE¬†file for another day!

I love how the front of the card is smaller to show the sentiment on the inside. ¬†I can see this quickly becoming a new fave way to make a card that’s just a little bit different!

Flower Patch 001 Detail

I’ve got about a billion flowers in many different colours sitting on my desk that didn’t make it onto this card….looking forward to having another play very soon to see what I can do with them!

Thanks for stopping by.

May SCS Creative Crew Holiday Focus

Holiday Focus:  National Photograph Month

Create a card that looks like a photograph by putting a border around your image and making the image glossy.  Use your On Film Framelits, or make your own frame.  Use Window Sheets to add your glossiness, or cover your image in Crystal Effects.

I haven’t caved in and purchased the On Film Framelits yet, so I pulled out my Squares Collection Framelits to create my own frame.

Wetlands 003 - Front

I stamped the Hardwood background onto Soft Suede cardstock, and die cut my squares to create my frame. ¬†It doesn’t show in the photo, but I have added my Window Sheet in behind my frame, and popped that up on Stampin’ Dimensionals over my sponged¬†Wetlands image.

Wetlands 003 - Inside

I have to tell you….the Wetlands stamp set was NOT on my “gotta have that” list. ¬†Looking at it in the catalogue, it didn’t excite me at all. ¬†It hasn’t taken that long for me to fall in love with it though….it’s got so much potential! ¬†Here’s the first card I have made with it.

Wetlands 001

This is notecard size, so smaller than normal, but there’s still plenty of room for your special message inside ūüôā ¬† I’ve made mine into a birthday card, but it’s really is suitable for any occasion.

I love how this turned out!  I embossed the birds image in black, and then sponged with crumb cake and soft sky.  Super simple, but oh so effective!

I made this with my ladies on Friday night….I think they are all falling in love with this set now too!
